Lactoferrin and other whey proteins are the primary bio-active components of VexiLife™Immune Plus.

Lactoferrin (LF) is an iron-binding glycoprotein, present in all mammals.

It is considered an important mediator in host defense against pathogenic organism. There is high similarity between bovine and human lactoferrin. Many researches indicate that exogenous LF, in particular bovine milk-derived LF, is a useful mediator of immune responses in slowing down the progression or preventing development of many debilitating conditions in humans.  It has been confirmed, that bovine milk-derived lactoferrin is safe for use in humans.

Considerable amount of LF is present in breast milk, especially in colostrum – a form of milk produced immediately prior to birth (first milk). Because of its high concentration in colostrum, LF has been studied extensively in host defense responses in infants. Indeed, breast milk LF provides protection against pathogens during newborn adaptation to non-uterine life.*
